DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCTION INTERN

THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Production & Development Assistant to join our SL PD/Production team. This role is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry, working closely with various teams and experiencing the product development process firsthand. You'll assist with the development of seasonal collections, fabric sourcing, and production coordination while maintaining strong communication with factories and suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Fabric Management: Create fabric codes, scan fabric headers, and upload them to Dropbox for easy access
-Sample Coordination: Manage sample pick-ups and drop-offs between local factories and the studio, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
-Factory Communication: Track sample progress by communicating with factories, ensuring the timely completion of tasks and addressing any issues as they arise.
-Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sample statuses, deliveries, and all related logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Assist in seasonal collection development, including research, prototyping and sourcing
-Maintain the trim closet and material libraries to ensure materials are organized and accessible
-Assist with creating and updating spec sheets, tech packs, and bills of materials
-Assist with launching samples for local development and production
-Support sourcing for local trims, embellishments, and fabrics as required.
-Update and organize sketch boards to reflect the latest design developments
-Update flat CADs, apply colorways, and ensure all changes are reflected in the Work In Progress (WIP) chart. .

REQUIREMENTS

-Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve efficiently.
-Team-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (PLM system knowledge is a plus).
-Hand and machine sewing skills are beneficial.
-Previous experience in the NY Garment District is a plus
